Our Story
Under The Kōwhai Tree was born from a place where love, loss, and healing quietly meet.
Handcrafted in Kerikeri, each Hei Tiki and taonga is inspired by Te Ao Māori, our whakapapa, and the enduring connection between whenua, whānau, and wairua. Every piece carries its own story, honouring the past while embracing the promise of new beginnings.
The kōwhai tree holds deep personal meaning. It symbolises remembrance, resilience, and the quiet strength that can emerge through life’s most difficult seasons. It reminds us that while grief may become part of our journey, so too can hope, aroha, and healing.
More than jewellery, these are meaningful taonga created with aroha to bring comfort, connection, and a sense of belonging to those who wear them. Crafted to be treasured, each piece carries a story of remembrance, resilience, and renewal to be shared across generations.
Ngā mihi nui for supporting a small Māori-owned business and for being part of the Under The Kōwhai Tree journey.
